CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is between $35.00 – $50.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

The Field Technician II will inspect, test, and maintain high, medium, and low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with electrical equipment such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and a variety of switches, both manual and motor operated. Technicians will implement safety policies.
Responsibilities- Perform entry‑level testing of high, medium, and low electrical power equipment independently while collaborating with senior technicians.
- Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems and determine optimum functioning.
- Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
- Required: - Able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen
- Complete a satisfactory criminal background check
- Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record - Preferred: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with voltage verification, contact resistance, insulation resistance, test equipment setup, reading and understanding one‑line drawings, and identifying equipment hazards
- Practical understanding of electrical theory and hazards, including LOTO, Arc Flash, grounding, reading electrical schematics, and testing apparatus without supervision (breakers, transformers, CTs, PTs, cables, & grounding)
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or relevant military experience preferred
- 2–4 years of relevant industry experience
- NETA II certification
- Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
