** Security Officer - Unarmed Mixed-Use Patrol

** Chicago, IL** , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a leading educational and cultural location, you will monitor galleries, classrooms, and public spaces through routine patrols and a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will greet visitors and staff, provide clear directions, document concerns, and communicate quickly with site teams.

** What You'll Do:*
* + Provide customer service to staff, students, visitors, and/or contractors by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities as directed.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disruptive behavior, suspicious activity, and/or property concerns; request assistance from site contacts and/or public responders when appropriate.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols throughout educational and public-facing areas such as entrances, corridors, classrooms, galleries, exhibit spaces, offices, and the perimeter, noting conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.

+ Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other security-related systems where assigned; communicate observations and status updates to site representatives and Allied Universal supervision.

+ Complete detailed reports and logs regarding patrol activity, incidents, and follow-up actions; assist with crowd flow, special events, and/or controlled access as needed.

* + The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.

+ Be 21 years of age or older.

+ Customer service experience is preferred.

+ CPR certification is preferred.

+ A guard card and/or license is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
