Unarmed Security Officer

About the Job:

• Unarmed Part‑Time Security Officer.
• Shift: Part‑Time Friday (4pm‑10:30pm), Saturday (4pm‑10:30pm), Sunday (3pm‑8:30pm).
• Shift: Part‑time Saturday (9:30am‑4pm), Sunday (9:30pm‑3pm).
• Site: Dispensary.
• Public transportation is recommended to the site because there is not parking at the site.

This is an unarmed position. The site is located in the North Halsted area. You must have reliable transportation and a cell phone.

Duties require a visible presence. Secure people and property. Any other tasks assigned by the store manager. Observe and report.

We are looking for a fit and attentive Security Guard to ensure that our property is protected. The Security Guard is responsible for patrolling the property and apprehending any trespassers.

To be successful as a Security Guard you must be alert and professional. A good Security Guard is aware of all visitors to the property and ensures that no inappropriate actions take place.

• Deter any criminal activity.
• Make guests aware of rules that must be adhered to.
• Remove trespassers or unwanted individuals from the property.
• Contact the relevant authorities if a crime is committed or an accident occurs.
• Report to supervisors regularly.
• Record any suspicious activities with the supervisor.

• A high school qualification or equivalent.
• State PERC License.
• Basic first aid skills would be advantageous.
• Physical strength and fitness.
• Prior experience as a Security Guard would be advantageous.
• Attention to detail.

• Constant – Seeing, hearing, feeling, standing, walking.
• Occasional – reaching, stooping, climbing, balancing, driving, bending, twisting, handling paperwork. Carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, and gripping of objects ranging in weight from under 20 lbs. to over 50 lbs.
