Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow a defined territory focused on flat‑rolled steel products. This individual will be responsible for developing new business, maintaining existing customer relationships, and serving as a trusted partner to customers across a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts within an assigned territory
- Prospect and develop new business with manufacturers, fabricators, and end users
- Sell flat‑rolled steel products including (but not limited to) hot‑rolled, cold‑rolled, and coated products
- Work closely with inside sales, operations, and leadership to ensure accurate quoting, pricing, and order fulfillment
- Maintain regular customer visits to understand needs, forecast demand, and identify growth opportunities
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and competitive activity
- Meet or exceed sales and margin objectives
- 2+ years of outside sales experience in a steel service center environment
- Direct experience selling flat‑rolled steel products required
- Proven ability to develop new business and manage long‑term customer relationships
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage time and territory independently
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally within the assigned territory
