About Dynavax

Dynavax is a commercial‑stage biopharmaceutical company developing and commercializing novel vaccines. The company’s proprietary CpG 1018 adjuvant powers a diversified infectious vaccine portfolio, including the U.S. and EU‑approved product HEPLISAV‑B® for prevention of hepatitis B in adults. CpG 1018 is also being used in the development of COVID‑19, plague, shingles, and Tdap vaccines.

Position Overview

The IDN Key Account Executive II will have full account responsibility and business ownership for assigned IDN, Independent, and Group Practice accounts. The role focuses on establishing and growing HEPLISAV‑B sales, expanding adult hepatitis B vaccination, and driving greater adoption of HEPLISAV‑B. This field‑based position requires daily travel and a minimum of 2 years of vaccine experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales targets and own/manage customer relationships for assigned accounts.
  • Serve as sole owner for assigned accounts—responsible for successful execution at all levels of the customer organization.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of vaccine decision making, adoption, and implementation processes across all levels of assigned accounts.
  • Develop, communicate, and monitor an account strategy for each assigned account; conduct quarterly business reviews with the Director of Vaccine Sales.
  • Execute all functions independently with minimal supervision from the Director of Vaccine Sales and/or assigned mentor.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders responsible for vaccine implementation.
  • Partner with the Director of Vaccine Sales to execute sales & marketing strategies supporting HEPLISAV‑B expansion.
  • Analyze competitive positioning, market dynamics, and customer business models to identify opportunities across assigned accounts.
  • Maintain accurate up‑to‑date customer records in the Account Management system.
  • Exercise sound judgment to ensure integrity and compliance with company policies.
  • Foster Dynavax core values and leadership behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of life sciences sales experience; IDN/Hospital experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of vaccine or buy‑&‑bill experience.
  • 2+ years of strategic account management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the IDN/Hospital landscape in the assigned territory required.
  • Previous health system account management experience highly preferred.
  • Strong strategic vision, business acumen, and influencing skills to drive initiatives across the organization.
  • Documented track record of consistent sales and growth success and superb account management skills.
  • Proven financial/budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of large health systems, including immunization‑related quality initiatives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to drive business results through strategic thinking and planning.
  • Experience in matrix management and change advocacy.
  • Heavy travel required.
  • Key competencies:

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Physical ability to sit for prolonged periods, reach with arms and hands, lift small objects, and perform repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Must obtain all industry credentials and certifications.
Additional Desired Skills
  • C‑suite leadership and account management experience within IDNs and hospitals.
Compensation

Salary range: $119,000 – $155,000 per year, depending on experience, education, and location. Total compensation also includes stock equity awards, participation in the sales incentive program, a company car for field sales employees, and benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off (including 17 paid holidays in 2025).
