- Act as the primary technical resource during the pre-sales and sales process, collaborating closely with the sales team to understand client needs and objectives
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features, capabilities, and benefits of Viant’s solutions
- Understand and analyze client requirements, providing tailored technical recommendations and solutions that meet their unique business challenges
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Product, Operations, and Sales, to address customer needs and provide input on product enhancements
- Support proposals, RFP responses, SOWs, and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Handle technical objections and effectively address client concerns to build trust and confidence in Viant’s technology
- Provide technical training and support to sales team members to enhance their product knowledge and sales effectiveness
- Stay updated with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to contribute to the company's product roadmap and sales strategy
- 4+ years’ experience in a sales engineering or technical consulting role within the Ad Tech industry
- Strong knowledge of digital advertising, programmatic buying, and measurement/analytics
- 2+ years’ experience with Ad Tech platforms such as demand-side platforms (DSPs), data management platforms (DMPs), and/or clean rooms technology
- Proficient in conducting product demonstrations and effectively presenting technical solutions to diverse senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and address customer requirements
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences, and industry events
- Bonus: SQL experience
- Bachelors Degree required

Viant is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Sr. Sales Engineer to join our team to act in a client service role. As a Sr. Sales Engineer, you will be a technical pre-sales resource for the field sales team when selling to our most strategic clients. In this dynamic role, you will be on the front lines applying your technical knowledge and industry expertise to consult with customers about their challenges and Viant’s measurement and products or services that can effectively meet their business goals.
You will work at the intersection of Sales, Product, Operations, Business Development, and Legal teams to design and implement solutions. This is an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of data and measurement, collaborating and building relationships with clients at top global brands and ad agencies. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert and trusted advisor to our sales team and clients.
They will be responsible for understanding client requirements, conducting product demonstrations, and providing technical solutions that align with their business objectives. This role will require deep knowledge of Viant’s Data Platform and Advanced Reporting, coupled with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, which will be instrumental in driving successful customer outcomes.
