Dal-Tile, a leading manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States and a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, invites applications for a PART TIME Showroom Sales Specialist
. The role focuses on providing interior design guidance, product expertise, and follow‑up to enhance customer experience and drive sales. Saturdays are required and the position is limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week.
- Provide interior design advice and product expertise, facilitate tile and stone selection, and support project development to secure customer selections and sales, utilizing Auto‑CAD as needed.
- Log all client showroom visits, contact information, and detailed preference notes in CMT; communicate with customers and internal team to track leads and ensure sales closures; report monthly sales results.
- Prospect new business with emphasis on Custom Builders and Residential Designers; make outside sales calls and follow up on leads to grow and drive business; record all interactions in CMT.
- Maintain showroom samples and merchandising, including ordering, receiving, and displaying models; ship customer examples as needed; coordinate with suppliers and vendors to keep current on design and product offerings; comply with marketing standards for proper showroom merchandising.
- Plan and host showroom tours and industry trade events; attend external trade events to build industry relationships and brand awareness.
- Work evenings and weekends as required.
- A four‑year degree in a related field, four years of related experience, or a combination of a two‑year degree with two years of related experience.
- Competencies:
Sales, customer engagement, customer service, design sketching and blueprint reading, Auto‑CAD (a plus), color coordination, interior design trends, customer buying habits, creative thinking. - Ability to conceptualize innovative solutions and communicate them effectively to clients.
- Computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; customer‑management tools (a plus).
- Excellent oral, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with customers, team members, and management.
- Frequent standing, reaching, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; may need to sit, climb, or balance at times.
- May lift and move up to 80 pounds.
- Requires close and peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles or fumes; noise level usually loud.
