RoleSummary
Black Girl Vitamins (BGV) is seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial field sales representative to help expand our retail presence nationwide. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys opening doors, talking to retailers, checking shelves, and growing small accounts into steady partners. You will be one of our first field sales hires and will play a meaningful role in how BGV shows up in retail.
WhatYou ll Do
- Grow BGV’s retail distribution by identifying and opening new small to mid-sized retail accounts.
- Develop a clear prospect pipeline and sales funnel that includes cold outreach, walk-ins, follow-ups, and event-generated leads.
- Open new retail doors, with a focus on beauty supply stores, independent retailers, and mom-and-pop shops.
- Own retailer relationships and serve as their main point of contact.
- Take wholesale orders and ensure accurate handoff to our warehouse for fulfillment.
- Manage on-site inventory levels by checking stock, improving shelf visibility, and ensuring products are properly displayed.
- Support basic merchandising, including simple POP placement, restocking, and maintaining strong visual presence in-store.
- Drive brand visibility through in-store sampling, small-scale events, and lightweight POP activations.
- Collaborate with the BGV team at local and national events for lead generation and awareness.
- Track activity and KPIs, providing weekly updates on outreach, doors opened, reorders, and event activity.
- Consistent opening of new retail doors each month.
- Strong retailer relationships that lead to repeat orders.
- Improved visibility and merchandising quality in partner stores.
- An active, well-managed pipeline with steady outreach.
- Creative input and testing of growth ideas in the field.
- Ownership mentality and reliable communication with the BGV team.
- 1–3 years of experience in field sales, retail sales, merchandising, or a similar CPG role.
- Comfortable with cold outreach and in-person relationship building.
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment.
- Able to balance sales activity with simple in-store merchandising needs.
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Excited about representing a mission-driven brand and contributing to its growth.
- Based in Chicago or willing to travel to Chicago regularly (preferred but not required).

Chicago (preferred), US Remote possible (CT working hours) - Compensation Range: $50,000 - $65,000 base + commission up to $250,000
