As a Line Cook, your responsibilities include executing menu items with precision, maintaining a clean workspace, and contributing to the kitchen's overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation
- Prepare ingredients for menu items as per recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure accurate and timely assembly of dishes during service.
- Cooking and Plating
- Cook and plate menu items, focusing on detail and presentation.
- Work with the kitchen team to ensure taste and presentation consistency.
- Station Maintenance
- Keep workstations tidy, organized, and stocked with necessary ingredients.
- Manage supplies during service, replenishing as needed.
- Adherence to Recipes
- Follow recipes and portion controls to maintain quality and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with the Chef for any recipe adjustments.
- Quality Control
- Regularly check ingredient freshness and quality.
- Report any food safety or quality issues to kitchen management.
- Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff for a smooth workflow.
- Support team members in achieving kitchen goals.
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent kitchen experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Fluency in a foreign language.
- Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen.
- Capable of enduring various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Stand and/or walk continuously during the shift.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comply with all policies and service procedures of Chicago Waffles.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menus and restaurant operations.
- Perform all necessary opening and closing duties.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Assist other restaurant employees as required.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and food tastings.
