The Owl falls under the umbrella of 4 Entertainment Group (4EG), a privately held local company, founded and helmed by four partners that manage a wide-ranging roster of exceptional bars and restaurants. Although each place is unique, they are built from the foundation of exceptional friendly service and superior quality of lighting, sound, music, and décor.
The Owl has become known as the late-night destination in Logan Square. However, we’re open at 4pm every night for half price happy hour, which makes us the perfect spot for an early evening hang after work. We also have touring live bands, resident DJs, and other awesome events, which are always free!

The Assistant Manager (AM) helps lead the day-to-day operations of the bar while carrying out our company passion and focusing on our core values. This position assists the General Manager (GM) in leading, managing, and holding the entire bar staff accountable. This position also collaborates with the GM to ensure compliance with company standards in all areas of bar operations, including managing store labor, meeting or exceeding sales goals, following all company systems and processes, creating a positive store culture, product management, ensuring execution of company brand standards, staying on top of all bar maintenance and repair, and positive customer relations.
WhatYou’ll Need to Be Successful:
- Proven leadership experience with exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including training, coaching and development
- Must be proactive and choose to make a positive impact daily
- Experience in managing inventory
- Experience in payroll process
Work well under pressure and ensure fast, accurate service - Detail-oriented
- Process and systems-oriented
- Be responsible, show personal accountability, and be reliable
- Must be proficient with POS systems
- Minimum 1 year experience in restaurant / bar management strongly preferred
- Must have experience bartending and/or serving in a high-volume bar and/or restaurant
- Must maintain alcohol knowledge and safety certifications as required by company and city/state
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
