Duties and Responsibilities

Part-Time Research Assistant, responsible for assistance of a clinical research project to include, but not limited, to:

  • Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings and record meeting minutes
  • Update and maintain Family

    WISE Lab website
  • Perform procedures as directed by research protocols for pilot and R01 studies
  • Conduct literature reviews, scholarly writing, and editing as needed to support research activities
Pilot Study
  • Prepare, organize, and update relevant study materials and data records (e.g., REDCap surveys)
  • Program, test, and update Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) prompts in Life Data application
  • Recruit, screen, and enroll research participants in pilot study
  • Conduct initial virtual visit with participants including informed consent, scheduling, and EMA training
  • Act as point of contact for participants and help with any questions or concerns throughout the pilot study process
  • Conduct follow-up interviews with a group of participants to gain feedback on pilot study to inform R01
  • Manage participant payments
  • Collaborate with study team on data management and analysis including coding and analysis of interview data
  • Present to and obtain feedback from advisory council throughout research process
  • Participate in dissemination of findings (e.g., contribute to writing and editing manuscripts and presenting findings at conferences and clinical meetings as needed including manuscripts related to research process, EMA use, engagement with advisory council, etc.)
Preparing R01 Grant Application
  • Participate in writing, editing, and submitting R01 grant to NIH for funding
R01 Study
  • Develop and revise processes for R01 as informed by pilot study research activities
  • Participate in research activities as outlined in R01 application, once funding is obtained
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent in health-related field
  • Minimum Experience:

    1-2 years of previous research assistant experience, superb interpersonal skills and attention to detail essential

Preferred:

  • Specify Degree(s): preferred nursing degree
  • Previous research team experience working with people living with spina bifida or other congenital chronic condition
Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Basic Email Applications

Salary

Pay Range: $27/hr – $30/hr
