Job Description & How to Apply Below

The James Franck Institute invites applications for a Research Scientist with expertise in tissue biology and quantitative imaging to work with Professor Margaret Gardel. The Research Scientist will be responsible for developing imaging-based characterizations of tissue-scale inflammation states in skin organoids.

This will involve establishing protocols for the fixation and sectioning of skin organoids grown at the Biohub, then the staining and imaging of the samples using spinning‑disk or laser‑scanning confocal microscopes. The stratified nature of skin organoids requires 3D reconstruction to account for changes in tissue composition and structure.

The appointment has an expected start date on or around April, 2026. The initial term of the position will be for one year with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years depending on project needs.

The salary for this position is $72,250. This position is benefits‑eligible.
