Senior Research Associate, Rapid Response

JB for Governor is seeking a Senior Research Associate, Rapid Response. The Senior Research Associate, Rapid Response will be a key player in rapid response operations, including fact checking, pushback, and other collaborative efforts with the Communications and Digital teams.

• Write rapid response research documents with precision and attention to detail
• Lead fast paced research projects in response to breaking news and happenings in the race
• Fact check opponents’ claims and statements
• Collaborate with the communications and digital teams on cross departmental projects
• Develop accurate backup documents for polling and paid media
• Other duties as assigned

• 1-2 cycles of opposition political research experience. Rapid response and/or campaign research experience strongly preferred.
• Extreme attention to detail, even under tight deadlines
• Strong grasp of strategic messaging and the role of research in achieving communications goals
• Mastery of standard research bullet writing
• Experience with Lexis Nexis, court records retrieval, campaign finance analysis, and other public records research
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large
• Experience managing interns or researchers a plus

This position is based in Chicago, Illinois but can start remotely, with the expectation that the Senior Research Associate, Rapid Response relocate. The salary for this position starts at $90,000.
