We’re recruiting a Quality Manager for a fast-paced food manufacturing site operating to SQF standards. This role is responsible for leading the site Quality and Food Safety function, maintaining certification, and driving continuous improvement across the plant.

This is a hands-on leadership position, reporting into senior site leadership, with full ownership of QA, compliance, and food safety systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the site Quality and Food Safety team
  • Maintain and improve the site’s SQF certification, ensuring ongoing compliance
  • Act as the SQF Practitioner and primary point of contact for external audits
  • Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits
  • Own HACCP plans and ensure they are current, validated, and effectively implemented
  • Manage corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and root cause investigations
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, allergen control, traceability, and recall programs
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, local regulatory, and customer requirements
  • Partner with Operations to drive continuous improvement and reduce non-conformances
  • Manage quality metrics, reporting, and trend analysis
  • Support new product introductions from a food safety and compliance standpoint
  • Lead customer complaint investigations and reporting
  • Deliver food safety and quality training across the site
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in a Quality leadership role
  • Must have acted as SQF Practitioner
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems
  • Experience leading external audits
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence Operations
Preferred
  • PCQI certification
  • Experience with BRC or other GFSI standards
  • Experience in high-risk or high-care environments
