We are seeking a new Utility Inspector to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Utility Inspector
, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever-evolving project needs. This opportunity will be located on various client sites throughout southern Louisiana.
- Act as an independent verifier of utility and contractor work
- Ensure compliance with NESC, OSHA, and utility construction standards
- Identify safety, structural, and workmanship defects
- Provide defensible documentation for audits, inspections and regulatory review
- Document Control
- Professional reporting suitable for regulatory review
- Photo supported findings
- Defect prioritization (immediate, scheduled, monitored)
- Must be able to interact with the public
- High School diploma or GED (minimum)
- Valid Driver License
- 3-5+ years in overhead distribution, pole inspection or utility QA/QC
- Experience with joint-use (electric, telecom, CATV)
- Prior field construction experience
- Experience reading, understanding and interpreting construction redlines
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Utility or Construction)
- In depth knowledge of NESC electrical codes and regulations for the state of Louisiana
- Basic knowledge of reporting and construction management programs (Pro Core)
- Understanding of data validation and audit trail awareness
- The ability to use GPS-enabled mobile inspection software
- Utility Pole Inspection Certification
- QA/QC inspector Certification
- CCQM/CQM Certification
- Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
- ISO 9001 awareness
- NESC familiarity or training certification
- CQA (quality auditor certification)
- Entergy Power Safe courses for line inspection (substation specific)
