Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team at our Chicago, IL facility. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading and ensuring the highest quality standards throughout our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Management System:
    Develop and maintain a robust quality management system to ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and customer requirements. Implement quality policies, procedures, and work instructions to drive continuous improvement and adherence to quality standards.
  • Process Optimization:
    Identify opportunities for process optimization and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and minimize waste. Conduct thorough analysis of manufacturing processes, identify root causes of quality issues, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Quality Control:
    Establish and oversee inspection and testing procedures to ensure product quality at various stages of the manufacturing process. Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with quality standards and specifications. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address non‑conformities and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Supplier Quality Management:
    Lead the establishment and maintenance of effective supplier quality programs. Conduct supplier audits, evaluate supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with the procurement team.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data, including customer complaints, non‑conformities, and quality metrics. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate quality performance and trends to management. Identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate actions to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership and Training:
    Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to quality engineering team members. Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement by promoting best practices, developing talent, and driving engagement.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001 or AS 9100, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with proficiency in statistical tools and techniques for data analysis.
  • Expertise in quality assurance techniques, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier quality management, including conducting audits and driving supplier performance improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and communicate complex quality concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
  • In‑depth knowledge of regulatory requirements in the manufacturing industry.
