We have an immediate opening for an Andrology Lab Technician to join our team in River North, Illinois. The schedule is per diem as needed. The pay range for this position is $21–$23/hr.
How You’ll ContributeWe always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Andrology Lab Technician is responsible for:
- Perform routine semen analysis including concentration, motility, morphology, and white cell assessment
- Prepare specimens for assisted reproductive procedures, including IUI and cryopreservation
- Ensure proper collection, labeling, and chain of custody for all specimens
- Maintain daily quality control logs and monitor equipment performance
- Record laboratory results in EMR and lab tracking systems accurately and promptly
- Conduct preventative maintenance on instruments and assist with calibration and troubleshooting
- Track lab supply inventory and place orders to ensure adequate stock of materials and reagents
- Handle biohazard materials according to safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Assist with compliance initiatives to maintain state, federal, and CAP/CLIA regulations
- Deliver results and specimen turnaround within required time frames (typically within 2 hours)
- Demonstrate punctuality and readiness to work scheduled shifts
The skills and education we need are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience required
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and quality control standards
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time‑sensitive deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced computer proficiency
- Willingness to work some weekends and adapt to scheduling needs
