Responsibilities (Day in the Life)- Partner with Veterinarians to deliver top-notch care, from prepping patients for surgery and monitoring anesthesia to performing treatments and diagnostics.
- Provide compassionate client care by educating and reassuring pet parents during stressful moments and explaining treatments and home care instructions.
- Perform lab and technical skills including collecting blood, running lab tests, placing IV catheters, taking radiographs (including dental x-rays), administering medications and vaccines, and assisting in suturing and wound care.
- Maintain an organized workflow by keeping accurate digital medical records (with help from an AI scribe), restocking supplies, and ensuring equipment is cleaned and sterilized.
- Be a culture champion by embodying core values such as accountability, teamwork, and solution-focus; mentor assistants and foster a positive environment.
- Credentialed Vet Tech in Illinois: Certified/Registered/Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) with a current Illinois license (or eligibility).
- Experience: At least 1 year of clinical vet tech experience. Emergency/urgent care experience is a plus, but training is available.
- Team Player Attitude: Collaborative, with good communication and a willingness to jump in where needed.
- Efficient & Proactive: Ability to improve processes, stay organized in a busy environment, manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records and dosing.
- Compassion & Passion: Demonstrates genuine care for animals and clients and a desire to grow in the field.
Bonus:
Experience in emergency/critical care, dentistry, anesthesia, or advanced skills is welcome for consideration.
- Competitive Pay
: $26–$30/hour, plus 1.5x pay on Sploot-recognized holidays. - 401(k):
