Certified Veterinary Technician – Ophthalmology Practice Leader
Eye Care for Animals, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, seeks a Practice Leader (PL) to manage a 100% veterinary technician role with 20% practice leadership responsibilities in Chicago.
Job OverviewThe PL is critical to the success of the hospital, ensuring a positive culture built on shared values and direct communication, creating operational efficiencies, and problem‑solving to improve client service and employee engagement.
Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, budgets, monitoring KPIs, inventory control, safety procedures, and participating in Thrive Planning leadership meetings.

- Communicates the practice’s values and mission to the team.
- Motivates staff and helps build and maintain morale.
- Upholds core values and standards.
- Conducts regular staff meetings with mandatory training on service and care standards.
- Promotes a cooperative working environment among staff members; understands the value of teamwork.
- Willing to perform as necessary to help the hospital function as a unit.
- Promotes continuous quality improvement (CQI) to ensure the practice’s success and achieve the vision.
- Veterinary Technician licensure.
- Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM, SQ injections.
- Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and using monitoring equipment.
- Team player.
- Analytical thinking to prioritize operational programs.
- Sound judgment in decision‑making.
- Capable of leading, managing, and coaching staff at all levels.
- Experience in hiring, firing, budgeting, financial reporting, and P&L assessment.
- Strong math and Excel/sheet skills.
- Three years of supervisory experience; preferred three years or more in veterinary practice management.
- Physically able to lift objects up to 40 lbs alone and more with assistance.
- Availability for occasional uncommon hours, overtime, and recall for emergencies. Jammu

Compensation & Benefits- Hours:
27–32 USD/hr, based on experience and credentials. - Sign‑on Bonus: $2500.
