Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced House Supervisor (Registered Nurse) to oversee hospital operations during assigned shifts. The House Supervisor acts as the administrative designee and is responsible for coordinating patient care services, managing staffing needs, responding to emergencies, and ensuring efficient hospital operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across departments to maintain optimal patient care and hospital capacity.

ShiftNight Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule12‑hour shift – Part Time (1 shift per week)
Key Responsibilities- Act as the administrative designee on behalf of hospital administration during assigned shifts.
- Respond to urgent administrative issues, patient complaints, and clinical or facility emergencies.
- Coordinate emergency or disaster response until relieved by senior leadership.
- Support nursing staff with clinical guidance and assist with direct patient care when necessary.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Supervise and coordinate patient care staffing for assigned shifts.
- Conduct rounds in patient care areas including inpatient units, emergency department, and perioperative units to assess operational needs.
- Adjust staffing levels to ensure compliance with hospital staffing standards.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, and care teams to optimize patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Coordinate with departments such as Environmental Services, Engineering/Facilities, Patient Placement, and Patient Transport to improve patient flow and bed availability.
- Identify and resolve patient throughput delays to improve operational efficiency.
- Serve as a patient advocate and provide support to patients and families in navigating hospital services.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to nursing staff to enhance patient care and professional development.
- Communicate regularly with nursing leadership regarding staffing, operational issues, and performance concerns.
- Participate in committees or task forces as needed.
- Demonstrate accountability for personal and professional growth.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
- Minimum of 3 years of current acute care experience as a Registered Nurse
- Supervisory or leadership experience such as Charge Nurse preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced clinical environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and patient care management
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
