Opportunity:

RN - Oncology

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

• Clinic closes at 3:30 PM but may stay longer to finish infusions

• No weekend rotation, on-call, or holiday requirements (closed on major holidays)

• Minimum 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience required

• First-time travelers accepted but preference given to experienced travelers

• Required certifications: BLS and ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification

• Must be comfortable administering chemotherapy agents and recognizing adverse reactions

• Skills required include peripheral IV, Port-a-Cath, and PICC line access

• Comfortable drawing blood from ports for laboratory work

• Work with adult oncology patients only (no pediatrics)

• Provide care for oncology patients, long-term IV antibiotics, injections, and blood/platelet infusions

• Handle approximately 10 patients per day with no chemotherapy patients after 2:00 PM

• EMR system: EPIC (preferred but not required), IV Pump:
Alaris, Med dispensing:
Pyxis

• No floating to other units

• Navy scrubs required

• Free parking available

• General orientation plus one shift of unit-specific orientation provided

Facility:

This 205-bed healthcare facility features a Level II NICU and operates an outpatient oncology unit within the Same Day Surgery area. The infusion center contains 5 chairs and provides comprehensive oncology services with support from clinic leads, schedulers, and on-site oncologists. The facility maintains modern technology including EPIC EMR systems and offers rapid response capabilities with hospitalist and emergency department physicians available when needed.
