As a Nurse Unit Manager, you are a pivotal leader responsible for the delivery of high-quality care and the efficient operation of your unit:
Clinical Excellence & Strategy: Proactively assess evolving patient needs to implement individualized treatment plans. Monitor clinical outcomes and track progress according to HIPAA guidelines to ensure peak unit performance.
Team Empowerment: Directly supervise, inspire, and elevate nursing staff. You will provide expert guidance on medication distribution, complex clinical procedures, and critical care elements.
Quality Assurance: Systematically conduct nursing rounds multiple times per shift. You are the guardian of safety, ensuring staff strictly adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines.
Holistic Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between physicians, families, and the broader interdisciplinary care team to ensure a seamless recovery process.
Clinical
Education:
Drive continuous improvement by providing essential training to staff, residents, and family members regarding health conditions and facility protocols.Growth-Focused
Coaching:
Lead staff evaluations and provide constructive, real-time coaching to foster professional development and adherence to evidence-based best practices.Operational Oversight: Manage unit resources, supplies, and equipment efficiently while proactively resolving patient or staff concerns to maintain a positive, high-morale environment.
Licensure: Must possess an active, unrestricted RN license in the state of Illinois.
Clinical Background: A strong foundation in complex clinical care and long-term care (LTC) operations is essential.
Decision-Making: Proven ability to work with high autonomy, make critical decisions under pressure, and champion team-wide goals.
Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Leadership Experience (Preferred): Prior experience managing nursing staff and unit operations in an inpatient or skilled nursing setting.
Specialized Expertise (Preferred): A background in geriatric nursing or sub-acute rehab is a significant plus.
