Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Illinois licensure and neurosurgery expertise, including scrub experience and Level 1 trauma background.

Job Details

• Work in the hospital Operating Room focused on neurosurgical cases,

• Patient population includes neuro spine, stereotactic neurosurgery, and craniotomy cases with tumor resections,

• Day shifts, 4x10 hours, 7:00am to 5:30pm,

• On-call required, typically one 8-hour on-call shift per week as needed,

• Rotating to weekends may be required,

• Level 1 trauma center environment,

• Uses Epic EMR; module training provided if less than 1 year Epic experience,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license required and must be in hand for consideration,

• Minimum 1 year recent neurosurgery OR experience with scrub duties,

• Level 1 trauma center experience required,

• Must be knowledgeable in stereotactic neurosurgery, neuro spine, and craniotomy tumor resections,

• Epic EMR experience required; if less than 1 year experience, specific orientation dates apply,

• No prior permanent employment at any University of Chicago Medicine facility within the past 7 months,

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing on complex neurosurgical procedures,

• Modules and orientation are required and must be completed during onboarding and annually,

• A maximum of 3 days RTO (requested time off) is permitted per contract, with no RTO allowed during the first or last week,

• Team-based OR nursing environment with support from experienced neuro staff,

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers,

• Professional dress and adherence to hospital scrub color is required,
