Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active IL license, strong scrub and circulate skills, and recent Level 1 trauma experience.

Job Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center,

• Manages adult and pediatric surgical cases including ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery,

• Preferred exposure to neurosurgery, open heart/thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gynecology cases,

• Day shifts of five 8-hour shifts per week, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm,

• Works every other weekend (two weekends per month),

• On-call required one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday, either 7 am-7 pm or 7 pm-7 am,

• Mandatory floating to other units and facilities within 50 miles as needed,

• Uses Cerner EMR system,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses),

• Current BLS certification required,

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Operating Room experience required,

• Level 1 trauma experience required,

• Proficient in both scrub and circulate roles,

• Experience in ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery required,

• Epic EMR experience preferred,

• Must meet COVID-19 vaccination requirements,

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs are provided by the facility,

• Must be flexible and willing to float to any Cook County facility within 50 miles, possibly with short notice,

• Strict limit of 5 days RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO allowed on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday,

• Compliance with all onboarding and lab requirements is expected within 72 hours of offer acceptance,

• Candidates living within a 75-mile radius are eligible,
