Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a current IL license, Level 1 trauma experience, and strong scrub and circulate skills for night shifts.

Job Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting with Level 1 Trauma Center designation,

• Night shifts with a 4x10 schedule, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM,

• Every other weekend required, typically 2 weekends per month,

• One on-call 10-hour weekend shift per month, with no weekday call,

• Caseload includes Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases,

• Floating to other units within scope and up to 50 miles from home facility is mandatory,

• Cerner EMR is used for charting; prior experience preferred but not required,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license (no pending licensure accepted),

• Current BLS certification required,

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience required,

• Level 1 trauma experience required,

• Demonstrated scrub and circulate skills required,

• Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required,

• Preferred experience in Neurosurgery, Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology,

• Must provide proof of COVID vaccine,

• Must live within a 75-mile radius of the facility,

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float across units and to different facilities within 50 miles if required,

• Clinical team-based support is provided when assigned outside primary competency,

• Navy blue scrubs are provided and required,

• Strict compliance with lab work completion within 72 hours of offer acceptance,

• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends or around holidays,

• First day must not fall on or near a holiday due to RTO restrictions,

• Holiday coverage is required and calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation,
