Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with Level 1 Trauma experience who can both scrub and circulate for a 13-week travel contract in Chicago, IL.

Job Details

• Operating Room (OR) setting at a Level 1 Trauma facility,

• RN must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating roles,

• Required surgical specialties:
Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery,

• Preferred surgical specialties:
Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology,

Schedule:

4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM,

• On-call required: one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7A-7P or 7P-7A); no weekday call,

• Floating to other Cook County facilities may be required with as little as 2 hours' notice prior to shift start, within a 50-mile range,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (no pending licensure),

• Current BLS certification required,

• Level 1 Trauma experience required,

• Proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating required,

• Experience in Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required,

• Proof of COVID vaccination required - no exceptions,

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates may be considered under a separate rate,

• RTO is capped at 5 days total, with no more than 2 consecutive days off permitted,

• RTO on weekends will not be approved,

• No RTO on holidays or the day before or after a holiday,

• Floating may include assignments outside of primary area of competency; team-based support is provided in those cases,

• No special scheduling or block scheduling requests will be accommodated,
