CLINICAL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT COORDINATOR – REGISTERED NURSE

Insight Hospital and Medical Center – Chicago, IL

Paid hourly $36.00 – $46.00/hr full‑time. RN required to be licensed in Illinois.

ABOUT

THE ROLE

The Clinical Quality Improvement Coordinator leads data abstraction, performance measurement, and continuous quality improvement activities across the hospital. The role supports clinical teams, medical staff, and hospital leadership in achieving regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and patient safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Abstract charts and collect data for Core Measures and other required quality reports.
  • Coordinate medical staff peer review activities and physician case reviews involving potential quality issues.
  • Participate in multi‑disciplinary committees, task forces, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Review, revise, and develop patient care policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Analyze findings, develop improvement plans, and track results.
  • Assist with performance improvement projects, RCAs, FMAs, and accreditation readiness.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to physicians, nursing staff, and hospital administration.
  • Maintain current knowledge of benchmarks, literature, and clinical guidelines.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in acute care data abstraction, analysis, and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and basic data management applications.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Problem‑solving and data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement tools and the medical staff peer review process.
  • Commitment to teamwork and service excellence.
