As a Unit Manager, you are a pivotal leader ensuring clinical excellence and the efficient operation of your assigned unit:
Clinical Oversight: Proactively assess the evolving needs of each resident to implement individualized treatment plans that promote optimal health outcomes.
Staff Mentorship & Supervision: Directly supervise nursing staff (LPNs and CNAs) on assigned shifts. Monitor high-stakes tasks including medication distribution, blood draws, and specialized treatments.
Regular Rounds: Conduct systematic nursing rounds multiple times throughout each shift to ensure resident safety, assess care quality, and address immediate concerns.
Interdisciplinary Synthesis: Efficiently coordinate with physicians and the broader clinical team to ensure a seamless, holistic recovery process for all residents.
Education & Advocacy: Provide essential education to staff, residents, and families regarding care protocols, health conditions, and facility procedures.
Compliance Management: Ensure all duties are performed in strict accordance with Illinois state and federal guidelines, as well as facility-specific policies.
Resource & Performance Management: Manage unit resources effectively while participating in staff performance evaluations and providing constructive coaching.
Conflict Resolution: Mediate staff or family concerns with a focus on promoting a positive, calm unit environment.
Clinical Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently to manage unit operations and make critical decisions under pressure.
Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and standard office software.
Experience (Preferred):
* Previous experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing.Demonstrated leadership or staff management experience.
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license within the state of Illinois
