We are seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented Registered Nurse to support a federally funded randomized controlled trial focused on neonatal health. This role is pivotal to the efficient and ethical execution of the study and requires strong clinical and organizational skills.

School of Nursing, Maywood-Health Sciences & Rogers Park‑Lake Shore Campuses - Shift: 12‑hour shift per week (Day: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, weekdays)
- Schedule:
Rotating weekdays, holidays, and weekends (minimal weekend duties, mainly remote medical record screening; occasional in‑person coverage may be required)
- Participant Recruitment and Screening
- Identify and recruit eligible participants based on the study’s inclusion and exclusion criteria.
- Conduct initial screenings and coordinate baseline assessments to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Informed Consent Process
- Oversee informed consent to ensure participants understand study procedures, risks, and benefits.
- Document consent in compliance with IRB guidelines and GCP standards.
- M‑MILK Intervention Administration and Monitoring
- Implement the study protocol as outlined.
- Continuously monitor infants for adverse events or complications and report issues promptly to the principal investigator and study team.
- Data Collection and Management
- Collect biospecimens (saliva, buccal samples) and ensure safe transfer to the laboratory.
- Collect and manage all primary and secondary outcomes, covariates, chart data, and questionnaires.
- Enter data into the study database and prepare biospecimen shipments.
- Standardization, Quality Control, and Data Integrity
- Obtain specialized training in outcome evaluation techniques and assessment tools.
- Participate in calibration sessions for consistent data collection.
- Utilize standardized tools and conduct fidelity/quality control checks.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality throughout the study.
- Participant Support and Retention
- Provide ongoing support and education to participants and families.
- Enhance participant experience and promote retention.
- Develop strategies to minimize dropout rates and administer incentives per protocol.
- Coordination with Research Team
- Schedule and conduct outcome evaluations at appropriate time points.
- Provide regular updates to the research team on progress and issues.
- Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
- Maintain study documentation, prepare progress reports, and assist with audits and monitoring visits.
- Coordinate with IRB, DSMB, and other regulatory bodies as needed.
- Dissemination of Findings
- Assist in preparing results for publications, presentations, and reports.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of nursing experience required.
- Must have current RN licensure in the State of Illinois.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license.
- Experience in neonatal, mother/baby, or pediatric clinical settings (preferred).
- Current employment as a Registered Nurse at one of the hospitals in the Trinity Health system.
- Spanish fluency (preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license.
- Experience in neonatal, mother/baby, or pediatric clinical settings (preferred).
