Overview

Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) provides skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires strong scrub and circulate skills, experience in Level 1 Trauma settings, and the ability to float within the facility as needed. The RN will work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the operating room.
• Function as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
• Perform patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the OR.
• Document patient care accurately and completely in Cerner.
• Float within scope to meet facility needs.

• Active Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in the OR.
• Level 1 Trauma experience.
• Strong scrub and circulate skills.
• Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.

• Experience in Neurosurgery (crani and spine).
• Experience in Open Heart/Thoracic procedures.
• Experience in Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology surgeries.

• Mandatory float facility; all resources are required to float at the facility's discretion.
• Call requirement:
  One 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7A-7P or 7P-7A).
• Must live within 75 miles of the facility.

• 5x8s, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
• Every other weekend / 2 weekends per month.
• No block scheduling.
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
• RTO: 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive. No holiday RTO. No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.
