Job DetailsPart‑time positions available. Prior NP work experience and experience in an emergency department are preferred. Ability to work varying hours and shifts. Comfortable with minor procedures including suturing and I&Ds. Ideal candidate will provide quality patient care, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and be motivated to manage throughput in our busy department.
Essential Functions- Completes and documents an accurate history and physical examination of patients.
- Conducts comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develops patient care plans.
- Orders and interprets tests, treatments, and therapies within scope of practice.
- Prescribes medications.
- Provides clear, concise, and accurate information regarding patient care in the medical record.
- Provides education to patients, families, and significant others using established education materials.
- May provide other clinical duties within scope of practice as directed under the emergency plan.
- Advocates for patients, families, co‑workers, community and health care profession.
- Integrates evidence‑based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision‑making.
- Participates in peer review and competency assessment activities.
- Seeks experiences and formal and independent learning activities to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and knowledge.
- Establishes an effective relationship with the collaborating physician.
- For Nurse Practitioners:
- RN degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Master of Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- National certification as an FNP or ENP from an accredited body.
- Current Illinois APRN License.
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
- Current Illinois Controlled Substance License within 6 months of hire.
- DEA registration possession within six months of hire.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current PALS/ACLS certification.
- For Physician Assistants:
- Degree from an accredited physician assistant training program.
- Physician Assistant License.
- Current Certification as a physician assistant by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Previous experience required.
