Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with Illinois licensure and at least 2 years of recent acute ED experience.
Responsibilities- Work in an Emergency Department setting within a hospital environment
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00pm - 7:30am)
- Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
- Mandatory floating to any unit or facility within up to 50 miles as needed, sometimes outside primary area of competency
- EMR system is Cerner; prior Cerner experience preferred
- No block scheduling or special shift requests allowed
- Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
- Expect strict compliance with documentation and deadlines prior to orientation
- Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days
- RTO not permitted on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
- Holiday RTO is not approved; calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
- Team-based model used when floated outside primary competency
- Parking available in adjacent parking garage for a nominal fee
- Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration (no pending licenses)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in an Emergency Department
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; PALS preferred
- COVID vaccination required (booster not required)
- Must live within 75 miles to be eligible; local candidates are accepted
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of assignment acceptance
