Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with Illinois licensure and at least 2 years of recent acute ED experience.

• Work in an Emergency Department setting within a hospital environment
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00pm - 7:30am)
• Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
• Mandatory floating to any unit or facility within up to 50 miles as needed, sometimes outside primary area of competency
• EMR system is Cerner; prior Cerner experience preferred
• No block scheduling or special shift requests allowed
• Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
• Expect strict compliance with documentation and deadlines prior to orientation
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days
• RTO not permitted on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
• Holiday RTO is not approved; calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
• Team-based model used when floated outside primary competency
• Parking available in adjacent parking garage for a nominal fee

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration (no pending licenses)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in an Emergency Department
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; PALS preferred
• COVID vaccination required (booster not required)
• Must live within 75 miles to be eligible; local candidates are accepted
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of assignment acceptance
