Unit Descriptions Emergency Department

Our 45‑bed Emergency Department (ED) is a designated City of Chicago and State of Illinois Level I trauma center which treats some 58,000 children annually. The ED consists of four 10‑bed pods, which include four trauma beds and one procedure room.
