Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with an active IL license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS for a Level 1 Trauma Center with mandatory float requirements.

• Work in the ICU setting with potential to float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, and MS units as needed
• Level 1 Trauma Center with a variety of critical patient populations
• 3x12 hour shifts from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., including every other weekend
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests are allowed
• Mandatory float to any Cook facility within a 50-mile radius per operational needs
• First week includes day shift orientation and precepting
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Strict RTO policy allows up to 5 days off, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no weekends or holidays
• No RTO is permitted on the day before or after a holiday
• Scrub color is navy blue and is not provided
• First week orientation includes a precepting shift
• Team-based model is used if floated outside primary competency

• Active IL RN license required; no pending licenses will be considered
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care ICU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must comply with a 75-mile radius rule for local candidates
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required
• Must complete required lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance
