The Registered Nurse (RN) promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and hospital regulations, law, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or modified. Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Provides and gives cooperative and courteous service to patients, visitors, staff, physicians, volunteers and other customers. Ensures that all communication and job activities result in a positive customer experience.
2. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload efficiently and accept/respond to change in a manner that promotes and supports departmental/hospital goals and objectives
3. Demonstrates ongoing competency in clinical skills and complete the ED competency skills on an annual basis
4. Participates in unit meetings, peer review, and QI activities.
5. Accurately assesses patients at triage and utilizes appropriate decision making skills to enter the patient into the system
6. Maintains patient’s rights, assures the privacy of patients and provides care, information and reassurance to patients who are restrained
7. Complete thorough and accurate assessment on each assigned patient and reassessment as indicated.
8. Support an environment conducive to the development and enhancement of working relationships. Responsive to the needs of the department by accepting additional assignments and/or assisting others to ensure the continuity of services
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES- Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Minimum Qualifications- Active RN License in State of Illinois
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
- Minimum 5 yrs of Nursing Experience
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- TNCC/CEN certification
- Experience with electronic medical records

PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk as well as occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch. There may be periods of stressful, intense concentration with more than average pressure used in a variety of problem solving situations.
