Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring an active IL license and a willingness to float among multiple critical care units.

• Work in the ICU setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Float to Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, and may float to MS units as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• No block scheduling allowed
• Mandatory floating within facility and between units, with assignments potentially at facilities up to 50 miles away
• ICU RNs may be assigned to any critical care unit and occasionally to MS units according to staffing needs
• Initial orientation and precepting to be completed on the day shift during the first week
• Strict compliance deadlines with lab work completion required within 72 hours of assignment acceptance
• Navy blue scrubs required and are not provided
• Returning resources must complete full recredentialing and orientation, regardless of prior employment
• Time off requests are limited to 5 days total, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no weekends or holidays permitted
• Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility will be considered local
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests considered

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU acute care experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required prior to start
