Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center assignment in Illinois requiring an active IL RN license and strong floating flexibility.
Responsibilities- Work in various ICU units, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU of a hospital setting
- May be required to float to med-surg units as needed to support staffing
- Mandatory floating within scope and between multiple facilities within 50 miles
- Shift schedule consists of 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) with every other weekend required
- Orientation and precepting take place on day shift during the first week
- Uses Cerner EMR;
Cerner experience preferred but not required - RNs must be prepared to float between units and potentially to other facilities within the health system as directed
- Team-based model will be used when floated outside of primary competency area
- Strict compliance and documentation deadlines must be met prior to onboarding
- Navy blue scrubs required and are not provided
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests are allowed
- Up to 5 days of RTO allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends or around holidays
- Returning employees must complete full recredentialing and orientation
- First week includes orientation and precepting shift on days
- Holiday coverage required; no holiday or adjacent day RTO allowed
- Active IL RN license in hand at time of consideration; no pending licenses accepted
- Minimum of 2 years recent acute care ICU experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must provide proof of all required vaccinations (COVID vaccine required; booster not required)
- Must complete lab work within 72 hours of accepting assignment
- Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius for local rate eligibility
