Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active IL license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and recent acute care ICU experience.
Responsibilities- Work in various hospital ICU settings, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
- May float to Med-Surg units and potentially other Cook County facilities as needed
- Level 1 Trauma Center environment
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, with every other weekend required
- Day shift orientation and precepting during the first week
- No block scheduling or special schedule requests are permitted
- Uses Cerner EMR system, prior experience preferred
- Float assignments may occur with as little as 2 hours notice
- All nurses are required to adhere to strict compliance deadlines, including lab work within 72 hours of accepting an assignment
- Returning nurses must recredential and repeat orientation regardless of prior employment length
- Holiday coverage is mandatory; no time off allowed before, on, or after a holiday
- Maximum 5 days of time off permitted, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no weekend RTO
- Navy blue scrubs required but not provided
- Team-based staffing model used if floated outside of primary competency
- First week consists of orientation and precepting
- Active IL RN license required at time of application
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Proof of COVID vaccine required; booster not required
- Must reside within a 75-mile radius; locals are accepted
- Must be willing and able to float between ICU units, Med-Surg units, and hospital facilities within a 50-mile radius as directed
