Salary: $1470 / Week

Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Amergis

The OR RN is a highly skilled and detail-oriented nursing professional responsible for delivering safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical judgment, precision, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. The RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes before, during, and after surgery.

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate perioperative care.

• Prepare patients for surgery, including preoperative assessments and education.

• Assist in surgical procedures by maintaining sterile technique and anticipating surgical team needs.

• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, including vital signs and anesthesia response.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.

• Provide postoperative care and education to patients and families.

• Maintain adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards.

• Respond promptly to emergencies and unexpected changes in patient condition.

• Advocate for patients while upholding confidentiality and patient rights.

• Active RN license in the state of practice.

• At least one year of professional nursing experience (OR experience preferred).

• Completion of Amergis’ Competency Program (if applicable).

• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).

• Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and OR protocols.

• TB screening and health clearance (as required).

• Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Successful completion of new hire orientation and OR training.

• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

• Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.

• Basic computer literacy.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
