Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active IL license, strong scrub and circulate skills, and recent Level 1 trauma experience.
Responsibilities- Hospital-based Operating Room unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Manages adult and pediatric surgical cases including ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery
- Preferred exposure to neurosurgery, open heart/thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gynecology cases
- Day shifts of five 8-hour shifts per week, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
- Works every other weekend (two weekends per month)
- On-call required one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday, either 7 am-7 pm or 7 pm-7 am
- Mandatory floating to other units and facilities within 50 miles as needed
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- Navy blue scrubs are provided by the facility
- Must be flexible and willing to float to any Cook County facility within 50 miles, possibly with short notice
- Strict limit of 5 days RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO allowed on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
- Compliance with all onboarding and lab requirements is expected within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Candidates living within a 75-mile radius are eligible
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Operating Room experience required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Proficient in both scrub and circulate roles
- Experience in ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Must meet COVID-19 vaccination requirements
