Job Description
ResponsibilitiesProvides advanced pediatric care, including acute and primary care, health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management. Performs medical functions according to approved protocols and/or collaborative agreements.
Assesses patient and family needs using medical screening exams, history and physicals, and other appropriate evaluations. Develops and documents individualized plans of care.
Uses advanced clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Monitors outcomes and adjusts treatment plans as needed.
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to develop coordinated treatment plans. Communicates care plans with patients, families, and other providers to ensure continuity of care.
Provides patient and family education, identifies learning needs, and evaluates understanding. Assists staff in delivering education.
Supports professional development of nursing staff, provides education in areas of expertise, and mentors new practitioners and graduate students. Shares clinical knowledge through formal and informal teaching.
Serves as a clinical resource on pediatric practice and disease management within the organization and the community.
Participates in relevant professional organizations to maintain current practice and contribute to the field.
Education: M.S Degree; training as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner License:
Current Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN), PALS certified
Experience: 3 years or more experience
Language: Bi-lingual Spanish Preferred
Specialized Knowledge and
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated knowledge and expertise in pediatrics. Active membership in appropriate professional organizations;
Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
PALS and CPR required: Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted.

Compensation$90,000-$90,000 per year
