Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN with Illinois licensure and acute Med/Surg experience for a correctional facility position with mandatory floating and weekend requirements.
Responsibilities- Work in a correctional facility setting within the Med/Surg unit
- Shift schedule is 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00am–7:30pm, with every other weekend required
- No block scheduling or special scheduling accommodations allowed
- Mandatory floating to any unit or Cook facility within a 50-mile range at the facility's discretion
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- Charting experience with Cerner preferred
- Navy blue scrubs required
- May provide care to a variety of patient populations in different units as facility needs require
- Team-based model utilized if floated outside primary competency
- Strict compliance with documentation and lab work deadlines is enforced
- Maximum 5 days requested time off allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends, holidays, or adjacent to holidays
- Holiday RTO not permitted; absence on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
- Free, first come first serve parking is available
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
- Correctional nursing experience preferred
- Local candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Proof of COVID vaccination is required
