Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for night shifts, requiring an active IL license and strong acute care background.
Responsibilities- Position is in the ICU with coverage across Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU settings
- Night shifts with 3x12 hour schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Every other weekend is required, with 2 weekends per month
- Floating is mandatory between various ICU units and may include Med-Surg units within 50 miles
- Patient population includes critical care and trauma cases at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Cerner EMR is used in this facility
- First week orientation and precepting will be on the day shift
- Strict compliance with RTO policies: maximum 5 days off, no more than 2 consecutive days, and no weekend, holiday, or adjacent RTO permitted
- Scrub color is navy blue and scrubs are not provided
- Floating assignments may be given up to 2 hours before shift start and refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
- Team-based model used for assignments outside primary competency
- Level 1 Trauma Center environment with complex patient needs
- No block scheduling or special shift requests permitted
- Active IL RN license required; no pending licenses accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Proof of COVID vaccination required, booster not required
- Must be able to complete lab work within 72 hours of accepting an assignment
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility to be considered for local status
