Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is pleased to announce an opening for a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) for the Forensic Unit A, day shift at Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois. Alton Mental Health Center seeks an energetic and detail-oriented licensed Registered Nurse to direct and oversee para-professional and non-professional nursing personnel, assuring that general health and nursing care needs are met for our patients.

The Center strives to provide equitable access to social/human services, supports, programs and resources to enhance the lives of all who we serve.

• Serve as Clinical Nurse Manager for the Forensic Units AFC-A day shift.
• Serve as full-line supervisor.
• Provide recommendations to the DON in the development of policies and procedures.
• Evaluate patient services by conducting ongoing audits (e.g., performance improvement) of services in adherence to established goals and standards.
• Provide professional nursing services to patients, including admissions, administering medications, giving shots, taking medical histories, etc.
• Develop a plan to implement alternatives to restraint/seclusion, outlining roles and responsibilities of program staff.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned within scope of enumerated duties.
