LPN Licensed Practical Nurse

• Daily documentation: accurately record a patient’s medical history and daily observations.
• Physician order management: transcribe physicians’ orders to MARs and notify pharmacy of new orders.
• Medication administration: prepare and administer medications as ordered, including injections, prescribers’ medications, enemas, etc.
• Vital sign monitoring: take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
• Patient observation & monitoring: observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications, and monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output.
• Charting: accurately compose and maintain patient charts.
• Assistance with daily activities: assist patients with eating, bathing, etc.
• Basic medical care: clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
• Sample collection: collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
• Emotional support: provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
• Family communication: communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
• Other duties as assigned: perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

• Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License within the state of Illinois (required).
• Compassionate and patient, with the ability to remain calm in a demanding environment.
• Experience in providing diverse basic care to those who need it.
