The salary range for this position is $60.00 - $79.67 (Hourly Rate).
Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our interventional cardiology team. The role supports the interventional cardiology care continuum with clinical responsibilities spanning the clinic. This role is based in the outpatient clinic, supporting patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. The APP will lead the pre-procedural evaluation process, including comprehensive history and physicals (H&Ps), medication management, risk stratification, and patient education.
They will ensure patients are fully optimized and prepared for their procedures. Additionally, the APP will see patients post-operatively in the clinic to ensure proper follow-up and recovery.
M-F, 4x10s - day off TBD; no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough pre-procedural H&Ps, including risk stratification and assessment of comorbidities.
- Manage and reconcile medications, including anticoagulants and antiplatelets, in collaboration with cardiology and pharmacy.
- Screen for contrast allergies, renal function, and device-related considerations (e.g., pacemakers, ICDs).
- Educate patients and families on procedure expectations, risks, and post-procedure care.
- Coordinate labs, imaging, and pre-procedure testing; all documentation and clearances are complete.
- Identify and address social or logistical barriers to care (e.g., transportation, home support).
- Serve as a liaison between patients, procedural teams, and referring providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- See patients in the outpatient clinic for post-procedure follow-up, medication titration, and symptom reassessment as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and case conferences.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new APPs or rotating students.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of pre-admission and post-procedural care protocols.
- Supports other needs of the Interventional Cardiology department as directed.
- Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board. Once licensed may apply for a controlled substance license and DEA number OR Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program/Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois.

- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as specified by department.
- Experience in interventional cardiology.
