The Development Operations Manager plays a critical role in building and sustaining a robust donor pipeline through strategic data management, analysis, and annual fund program oversight. This position serves as the backbone of the Development team's operations, leveraging data-driven insights to identify opportunities for donor acquisition, retention, and growth. The ideal candidate is both analytically minded and relationship-oriented, with a passion for advancing Haymarket Center's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Management
- Serve as the primary administrator of the CRM database, ensuring data integrity through accurate entry, regular audits, and system optimization.
- Build and maintain queries, reports, and dashboards to track key performance indicators and inform fundraising strategy.
- Analyze donor data to identify trends, segment donors, and uncover opportunities for cultivation, including monthly giving programs, donor societies, and major gift prospects.
- Develop donor profiles and conduct prospect research to support pipeline development and moves management.
- Facilitate monthly reconciliation with Finance/Accounting to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
Donor Pipeline Development & Cultivation
- Manage annual fund programs, including recurring donors, tribute donors, matching gifts, and new donor acquisition, with a focus on expanding and deepening donor engagement.
- Design and implement data-informed strategies to grow and nurture the donor pipeline at all giving levels.
- Oversee the acknowledgment process, ensuring timely and personalized donation acknowledgments, tribute notifications, and annual statements.
- Generate creative ideas and identify innovative approaches to strengthen fundraising efforts.
Operations & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison with the CRM vendor, managing system updates, troubleshooting, and staff training.
- Develop and manage online forms and giving pages to enhance the donor experience.
- Collaborate with the Development team to support special events, community outreach, and overall fundraising initiatives, representing Haymarket Center in the community as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree plus 3 years development operations experience
- Demonstrated experience with CRM databases and data management (Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge specifically)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategy.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
