Position: Executive Director | Chicago Low-Income Housing Trust Fund

Overview

Executive Director (ED) for CLIHTF, reporting to an appointed Board of Directors. Serves as the Chief Executive responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, and financial oversight. The ED leads the organization to continue providing low-income individuals and families in Chicago with access to stable, quality, safe, affordable housing by investing in rental subsidies and affordable housing projects throughout Chicago’s communities.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the key management leader of the organization and work closely with the Board of Directors to provide leadership and vision.
  • Lead strategic planning and ensure alignment with the organization’s mission to provide affordable housing opportunities in Chicago.
  • Oversee operational management and financial oversight, including budgeting and fiscal accountability.
  • Collaborate with the Board, City, State, and CLIHTF staff to navigate budgets and coordinate strategic responses to financial forecasts.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience:

    5-10 years in leadership roles, preferably in non-profit or housing-related sectors.
  • Education:

    Bachelor;s degree (required).
  • Knowledge:
    Working knowledge of equitable housing opportunities.
  • Experience with community-focused environments and partnership development.
