Kaleidoscope is a non‑profit child welfare agency that has been serving children and families who are facing the greatest challenges since 1973. Our highly trained, dedicated staff works to ensure that every child in Chicago lives in a safe and supportive home with a nurturing family.
Kaleidoscope's mission is to enhance child and family wellbeing by delivering innovative, individualized care and strengthening community connections. Our vision is that all children and youth have the opportunity to enjoy safe and healthy lives nurtured by supportive adults and engaged communities.
Our Associate Board is a committee of individuals who work together to promote the work that Kaleidoscope does. Like the Board of the Directors, members of the Associate Board will draw upon their expertise, personal and professional networks, and creativity to provide additional organizational and financial support to fulfill the agency's mission.
Responsibilities- Actively contribute skills and expertise to various Associate Board efforts
- Attend scheduled meetings and volunteer at agency social events
- Build partnerships with businesses, organizations and other institutions in Chicago
- Develop events and opportunities that further serve our youth and families
- Serve as an ambassador for Kaleidoscope, its families, and its mission
- Commit to a one‑year term to ensure smooth transitions and productive campaigns
The Associate Board meets every other month for 1–2 hours. Breakout groups may be asked to meet separately in between Associate Board meetings. Associate Board members must commit to a one‑year term.

We are looking for Associate Board members coming from a diversity of backgrounds, skill areas, and fields. They must be passionate about empowering Chicago’s children and communities and willing to work collaboratively to support our agency’s mission. No previous experience in child welfare or nonprofit work is required.
