Position: Marketing Manager (Mid-Level)

Overview

Amata is Chicago's law-first office, support, and community platform for attorneys and legal-adjacent professionals. We're not a generic cooking space - we're the backstage partner for solo practitioners, boutique and growth-minded firms, and the professional service organizations that serve them.

We handle the details that keep a practice running - reception, office space, events, community, and operational support - so our members can focus on their clients and cases. Our centers are designed to feel like a real legal community, not just a collection of offices.

We're growing and sharpening our marketing engine, and we're looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager who can turn strategy into clear paths and coordinated execution.

Important Note:

In the first phase, you will personally handle many of the Marketing & Event Planning Assistant duties (events, portal promotion, referral program tasks, basic execution) while we grow. Once you are established in the role, you will help hire and onboard an Assistant, then transition those day-to-day tasks to them, while you stay focused on management, planning, and optimization.

Role Summary

The Marketing Manager is the internal hub for Amata's marketing efforts. The CEO sets the strategy and budgets; you translate that direction into quarterly plans, coordinated campaigns, and consistent execution.

At the start, you will:

  • Manage vendors and campaigns and
  • Personally run key execution tasks (events, portal, and referral promotion, basic social scheduling, list and reporting prep)

As we grow, you will:

  • Hire and lead a Marketing & Event Planning Assistant
  • Shift more of the day-to-day execution to them
  • Keep your focus on planning, coordination, optimization, and partner management
What You'll Do

1. Turn Strategy into Plans

  • Translate CEO direction and business goals into quarterly and monthly marketing plans.
  • Build and maintain a practical marketing calendar covering digital, broker outreach, events, and community initiatives.

2. Own Campaign & Channel Management

  • Plan and coordinate campaigns across multiple channels:
  • SEO/website and local internet marketing (in collaboration with our digital agency)
  • Google Ads, Linked In Ads, and retargeting
  • Linked In and email outreach (e.g., via Outworks and cold email vendors)
  • Podcast content and promotion
  • Create clear campaign briefs (objective, ICP, offer, channels, timelines, metrics) for vendors and, later, for your Assistant
  • Act as the main point of contact for partners (cold email provider, podcast production partner, freelance writers and designers)
  • Define what success looks like for each partner; review results, give feedback, and recommend changes when needed

4. Lead the Preferred Partner Program

  • Own strategy and execution of Amata’s Preferred Partner Program
  • Define partner criteria, tiers, and benefits with the CEO
  • Recruit and onboard new preferred partners and set expectations
  • Plan and coordinate joint marketing activities (co-hosted events and CLEs; educational sessions and webinars; portal features, Water cooler highlights, and social promotion)
  • Track partner performance (referrals, engagement, event participation) and recommend renewals or adjustments

5. Broker & Prospect Marketing

  • Design and oversee broker-focused marketing
  • Broker-specific offers and informational assets
  • Ensure digital channels (SEO, ads, Linked In, cold email) and broker programs work together to drive quality tours and inquiries

6. Client Relationship & Community Marketing (Initially, before the Assistant is hired)

  • Personally plan and run member-facing events across centers (breakfasts/coffee gatherings; CLEs and educational sessions; evening networking and social events; Preferred Partner and PSO-hosted sessions)
  • Handle room booking, catering, invitations, reminders, RSVPs, and on-site check-in
  • Promote and support client portal adoption (onboarding, updates)
  • Capture photos and short stories from events and share them with vendors/freelancers for content

After the Assistant is hired:

  • Shift these execution tasks to the Assistant while you set the calendar and priorities, define success metrics, and oversee quality and consistency

7. Coordinate Content & Messaging

  • Identi…
